BPA In Plastic Harms Monkeys,
What About Our Babies?

According to a new study published in the Proceedings of the National Academy of
Sciences, a study has been published and has found that bisphenol A or BPA in plastic
products caused problems in monkeys.

There's a new study from Germany out today that tested the water in those bottles and found estrogenlike compounds, most likely leaching out from the plastic. These water bottles don't contain the notorious chemical bisphenol A, which is found in hard water bottles, baby bottles, and the plastic coatings of metal cans. (Studies of BPA indicate that high exposures could increase the risk of reproductive health problems and possibly breast, prostate, and ovarian cancers, which is why six leading baby bottle makers last week decided to ban it from their products.) The soft bottles do, though, contain other estrogenlike compounds, still unidentified, that could have the same harmful effects as BPA.

Patch 2.2.1
=====================

After updating my iPod Touch yesterday, I went online and googled about the update to see what it was for and found downloader were having problems syncing to iTunes after the update.

Other sites say the problem has something to do with DRM songs.

Other sites suggest that you "Don't Download" Music from iTunes until a New fix is installed, and syncing problem is fixed.

No Word from Apple yet.

Books Open, Virtual and Online

Remember when Google started digitizing all the library books it could get it's hand on?

Well in the mean time Microsoft and Yahoo have jumped into the fray with loads of Money to kick-start this worthwhile endeavor.

Well just this last week, Microsoft has cut the purse strings, and unlocked it rights to project and the copying hardware. Very nice thing.

Leo, at TWiT had Special Guest: Brewster Kahle of the Internet Archive talk about the status of this free online library, and it's Legal ramifications.
